Right after is a matching spark plug cover and full 4x2 intake as seen on the Milners yellow deuce coupe (not log type) to easy and borring IMO. Intake will be high rise so might not fit your 60s Buick

Different and atractive is my goal. Lots of time went into them. The only thing i do on paper are the measurement,everything else is from head to canvas all free style with a bit of changes from not being happy with the detail or look.

A 40's Nailhead is indeed rare as frog hair.

No. The bolt holes are off center on nailheads.if i remember its off center by 1/8+. The design stays the same. Desiging them around the bolt holes will not make sense nor look right. Someone on the nailhead group tried to tell me it was the way to go, but a mechanic telling a designer and patter maker what to do is like the nurse telling the surgeon he is wrong.

 

A similar valve cover for the early Caddy is next,but with the Cady crest of course.

They will fit all nailheads. If your heads are drilled for spark plug covers those will follow right after.

I don't care for the line going through the crest. It does not leave you with the opportunity to personalize them if one wishes. Just my opinion. I'm not knocking your work. I have been known to be wrong once before though.

It wasnt meant to please everyone..but,for an extra fee i can make it to your liking. As of now,i could care less. Ross racing likes them and they will be the ones selling them. Plus,i have a waiting list so you not buying wont hurt.

I think he didn't like the line through the crest. The crest needs to be flat so people can engrave stuff in it.

Any person that engraves can do so flat or round. I make what I make and if any one wants different i'll do so for extra cash. The majority likes them how they are,he's the first and it wont change because of one person. They are not being sold as canvas for one to engrave,rather what Offy and Eldetbrock are doing,a finished product because not everyone wants to do the extra work, but rather open up the box and mount them. Honestly,..if I wanted the crest with enraving I would have added my company logo. But most like them plain with no name.
On aside note. Anyone with some skill can modify them,its cast aluminium. I can do it.

 

As for you. If you did not go the easy way out and kept that straight 8 i got something of interest. I am only making some 15 or 20 sets,about all I will get from the patterns and I am keeping half of them.
I also have a finned high rise 4x2 intake for the 263 S8 Buick patterns just need some paint.

 

Is there any draft on those? They look straight up and down.

There sure is. I kept the draft to the minimum tho. Were they any taller,say 8in then there would need to be more draft. The talker the pattern the more draft is needed. I used a 1° draft wich is the min allowence. As it reaches the 12in mark it start opening up.

 

My S8 patter has a 4° draft since it alot taller. Keeping draft to a min is common practise. I got alot of pointers from the man who made the patterns for the usps mail sorters and the hand dryers we see at restaurants. So i know they will work fine

 

I know the foundry I work with couldn't pull that off. Hopefully yours can. They are nice patterns and deserve a nice finished product.
