I remember seeing this at a show in Jersey in the early sixties, it was a medium metallic blue, cool car.

What's your point? This is what MOST people did back in the day with what they had. Almost everyone was in the same boat and almost no one got ridiculed for doing it.
BTW, going to the drags was for everyone not just the big buck big boys with poofy-poo equipment and sitting in AC Motorhomes waiting for their next race.

 

It looks there might be a tach on the column of that "348" sixty Chevy

 

This really makes me feel old. 1959, I was 18 years old and extremely stylish.
