Technical 1959 Buick question

    DSCN7038-1024x768.jpg What seize is the Power Steering Pump Pulley Nut? I lost mine and I can't find any information on the internet. Our local part stores in Canada have no clue , car is to old.

    I don't know but the nut for the end of the generator is the same as a tie rod jamb nut 11/16" NF so maybe buy a jamb nut from Speedway?

    @1959Buick .... If you have the pump, you can measure the threaded nub of the shaft for diameter. The thread should be either NF (national fine) or NC (national co****). If you have or can borrow a thread pitch guage that would quickly identify the thread for certain.

    I looks like 1/2"NF , but every Nut I bought does not fit

    As I mentioned before, Speedway Motors chrome jam nut for $1.99 or stainless jam nuts for $2.99. They are fine thread and have ones from 3/8" to 11/16" in both LH and RH thread. Place an open end wrench over the end of the shaft to determine the size.

    just keep in mind that its a standard fine thread nut. you should be able to find something at local hardware store.

    I wonder what pump that uses? maybe not the same as the later Saginaw pump?
