That is just a great picture. Headline is perfect and that car is awesome. That was a cool idea.

Stray Kat, all someone has to do is polish a '59 Buick and they've got a semi-kustom.

Yes they do. A lot of 58 & 59s are factory kustoms. They are just begging to be a mild kustom.

Bob Sanchez' 1954 Mercury cover car. Note custom grille work on both cars.
    And check that hood line!

The "Golden Galleon" Chevy was another Kustom with great handiwork around the headlights.
One of my all-time favorite Kustom Chevies (in its early form)!

'Mo, the Golden Galleon was one of my favorites as well, too bad it morphed into what it is today.

Even our esteemed moderator doesn't seem to agree with Mick's evaluation:"People these days call lowered stock bodied cars customs, that bugs me .... a real custom needs BODY modifications." Mark Moriarity, Super Moderator

I want to discuss it with Mark. I had fun researching it, I'd like to hear his view in person. Hopefully at next year's Custom Car Revival.

I was saying, without saying it, that '59 & '60 Buicks knock me out. Of course I don't think
they pass as full or mild kustoms while being stock, but they look damn good without having
anything done to them. I suppose photos of a stock Invicta shouldn't be posted here, but I'll
never complain if one slips through.

I have to agree somewhat with this, even the most mild of customs needs some basic body work such as nosing and decking or some really wild paint work that keeps your eyes from noticing the lack of custom work. Just taking a stock vehicle and lowering it and putting wheels on is not really custom, in my opinion. Its modified, not custom. It kinda boils down to how you spell it. Is is "C"ustom or "K"ustom? That is how I separate the two anymore.
