Technical 48 flatty 8 starter drive

  1. when instalin a new drive on starter do you dip it in oil first ? how do you keep the thing lubed, there is a 1 1/2 cap on the bell housing ,the starter end should be behind it is that where you lube it from? if so it just turns, does it pop off thanks

    Starter drives on flatheads do not get lubbed..run dry

    You don't lube the starter and that dust cover is not to be removed.

    The starter drive needs no lube, must be clean & dry.

    Cuz it turns on bronze bushings in the end plates.
