Projects Thoughts and Pictures of 29 sedan un chopped

I have a super clean no rust anywhere 29 sedan body . Building on top or 4 inch z frame. Any opinions on looks or pictures of unchopped 29 sedans. I was considering 4 inch chop, but have not made a final decision yet. Thanks

This is a 30 my friend has done on an A frame chopped 4 inches and lowered over the frame 4

 

Cool looking cars.

 

Put it on the chassis and roll it out the door and stand back and look and decide. Plus sit in it and decide. As much as I like chopped tops I like comfort more.

A '29 Tudor gets no better than this.

 

NO CHOP.

 

I bought my '29 in 1966 while I was in high school and then commuted 80 miles weekly to university with the stock engine. It would got 62 mph and any more and you had to turn on the wipers because the rad was blowing.
Now it has hot rod "B" power. Wheels are American magnesium 10 x15 (came off a top fuel car in 1967) with 31" T/A Truck Radials and 14 x 6 ET's up front with 185/75s.
I bought the 56 Ford for a winter car in 1968 after getting caught in a snow storm with the A and no defroster/heater. '62 Pontiac was in the '90s when my kids got bigger.

Ya want a visually outstanding car?

Don't chop it but channel it deeply, ditch the fenders and run huge white walls in steelies. More of an east coast look and something very few people ever try.

There is a reason for that.

You have made a mistake asking all of us about this, man there are so many different opinions you may never sort through all of them. Some folks get almost religious when talking about chops. I am not one of those as I like them both ways, chopped and unchopped. Now with that said a Model A and especially a Model A sedan almost screams for a chop. I have had only one sedan that I didn't chop and it went down the road, was the fact that I didn't chop it the reason, still not sure about that but I think probably.

I also will add that with a chopped car you need to address the seating. There is no need for a chopped car to be uncomfortable, you just need to find the right seat and mount it in a way to maintain that comfort level. My chopped car above while having a pretty severe chop 6 1/2" is extremely comfortable, and I drive it a lot. I also am a big man and without some forethought can be a problem with a chopped car. I just returned from a trip to Texas were I spent a month there. In that month I drove that little car over 3,500 miles while in Texas.
