Apparently, there are no blues fans here.

    Terraplane Blues - Robert Johnson
Pontiac Blues - Sonny Boy Williamson
    From a Buick 6 - Bob Dylan

    And many, many more.

...and while the only possible mention of a model is a 'calaboose' (slang reference before my time?), I vote Chuck Berry's No Particular Place to Go as a Co-runner-up for one of the most clever car songs recorded. Not a fan of seatbelts? Have a listen if yer not familiar with the tune...

Sweet little 66, "shes got a 396, got a four on the floor, and those stickers in the window ain't just for show..." or Copperhead Road also mentions a "big block Dodge", and Someday talks about a "67 Chevy, she's low and black", although it never mentions the engine. All by Steve Earle, back when he was a badass, before he turned into a sissy.

  14. The song doesn't mention an engine specifically, but how about "Thunder Road". The movie hasn't cycled through lately, I guess I am going to have to download it.

I'm late to the party again! Some great tunes already been posted, I'm enjoying listening to them. But nobody's posted maybe the coolest car song yet, the late great Smokey Wilson, singin' bout his Deuce and a Quarter.

Man Smokey was the coolest. And I'm happy to say the drummer I'm working with now played in Smokey's band for 6 or 7 years, as well as backing up other big name guys like Albert King whenever he'd make a swing through LA.

    Rocket 88 -- great lyrics.

Stuff you can do in the car:
Bowlegged Woman Knock Kneed Man by Bobby Rush, also covered by Hot Tuna:
Well take me to my car now
    But the car won't go
Try to get next to you baby
Ain't got no place to go
Taste better than a t-bone steak
    Excitement on the side
If we don't find some place to get off
Gonna lose it on the ride

    Bobby Rush original:

Hot Tuna 5 minute album version from 1978:

Hot tuna 13 minute live version from 2016:
