Driver is a neighborhood in the town of Suffolk, Va. and they have a Driver Days Event every year. I have been numerous times, but this year I decided that I would take a few pictures to share. Hope you like them, Carp.

Oh, yeah. I had just arrived and was sitting in the car filling out the registration form, when what pulls in next to me but a silver over black Deuce Cabriolet. For those of you that don't know, it was Hamtown Al (whom I had never met in person) and his car which was the subject of an over the winter update from being banger powered to dual quad Nailhead motivation. I introduced myself and we jawwed for awhile, Al mentioning that he was looking for a posi rear, probably so they he could wear out both rear tires equally. He's quite a hoot! Here's my heap, but I never did get a shot of Al's.

    Hey catdad
I've never met Hamtown Al in person either, but have talked to him many times on the phone.. I think you came up with a perfect description of him.;)

Don, it's usually a two day get together that involves most of the neighborhood. The Sat. part has the car show and Sun. is the Bike day. Lots of things for the kids and adults to see and do. It's like a Black Friday for Driver, only Better.

As luck would have it; a guy at breakfast mentioned the 34 5w. He got the number and gave it to me and I called the guy! Nice guy with reputation for having some outstanding cars in the past.
The 34 has 56 Desoto hemi with automatic that he thinks is original to the Desoto. You'll have to talk to him for other details but be sure to ask about the chassis as it might be a new one or significantly upgraded.
Asking $31,000. He's gonna send me some more pictures that I'll relay to y'all.
Anybody still interested? He said he also has a "real nice" 49 Ford convertible with 302 and C4 and AC and other changes. Asking $28,000 for that one.
I'll bet you could buy them both for $60,000!;):D:D:D
    Salesman Al
PM me for phone number... I ain't getting; and I ain't taking any commission.:)

Thanks, Al. That price is pretty reasonable from what I saw. If I was buying, I may have looked a little harder, if you know what I mean. Great to talk with you, may be we can meet for ice cream real soon.
