    Thanks, themoose. I can't tell it from the real thing!

    I'm not sure about the inset plate, though it certainly captures the look. Perhaps if it were a tad lower? (Or bumper mounted, with the aforementioned Chevy guard?)
    The taillights could definitely use a healthy drop. Perhaps aligning their top edges with the bottom of the plate?
    Thoughts, anyone?

    I have loved my 10 different Corvairs...

    @Flamed48

    I'm pretty much open to experimenting with anything but I don't get this one. It's like an idea on paper that probably doesn't work in actuality. By shortening the body it means you're bringing the rear drivetrain, engine etc forward as well.
    Then altering the wheel openings, to me, doesn't improve anything for the work involved. But to each his own.

    No reason for back seat to be moved, there is space behind seat.
    & altering the wheel openings ( just moving them up 2 inches ) no biggie..

    do it MADFISH and lower front, lots !!!

    Mis spoke,

    please raise wheel openings..

  24. A "Hotdog"? What? Corvair lines are perfect as they are! (proud owner of a '65) Some cars should be left alone. I'm sure guys who shortened their VW bus wish they could go back and undo what they did.

  25. Just for the heck of it here's a rendering I did awhile back .It may be blasphemous to a true Corvair aficionado but I think it would make a pretty cool project.

    I cut up Madfish's green pic for an even dramatic shortening and wheel opening raising. It's different, not sure if it's a home run design or not, also I'm kind of a hack so it's not a very clean job. Did another with a sunken roof, just for the hell of it.

    Here's how GM did their '63 Corvair Super Spyder show car.

    Just paint, no body work. No photoshop. This is a Corvair that was created by a guy in Europe. My point is you don't need to alter one of these cars to make it look cool.
