Now that you mention it the car paint etc. is too perfect too. It never looked that good off the showroom floor when new.
Another great article about Hot Rods on the street circa 1945 by my friend Pat Ganahl...... https://patganahl.com/2019/11/11/streetscene-1945/
This looks like Sherman Way and Reseda Blvd! I drive that way almost every day View attachment 4480537 [/QUOTE]
1952-54. Those parking lights at the front look weird and don't show up on other pictures I have found.
When the Mark II's came out, I was 12 and had been following all the magazine stories. etc. My dad got an invitation for 2 to the introduction for recent Lincoln buyers at the Beverly Hilton and he took me. They had about 6 cars in different colors. A few weeks later, we were picking up his Lincoln from service and I wandered into the showroom. The car there had his name on the dash plaque and for a few minutes I was very excited. Turned out the dealer had to submit customer names to get a car for the showroom. He was not prepared t pay the $12,000 price for one which was about double the price of a regular Lincoln.
Who wouldn’t like to pull that into their garage? I suspect that was mostly stage patina, applied with a rattle can. And... I just noticed, but check out the no-state license plate.
