1939 Ford Transmission question...78 and 48 case numbers...

    heres a good book i just pick up this weekend on this subject. Max Navarro book on "how to rebuild the 1939 ford stick transmission". Great information, part numbers, and pictures. this is a great thread lots of helpfull information.

    ........Yes, for sure. At least three of the most knowledgeable HAMBers we've had the good fortune to know, now gone forever. So very sad, but thankfully much of their wisdom is still contained on these pages. We should all be very appreciative.

    Vern Tardell's book is a pretty good read for a build up of pre 1948 trans although they kept the stick shift 3 speed in Ford trucks up until about 1952.....
