You started to lose me when you said something about putting the fenders back on. Then a couple of posts down the Top is Chopped. It was all over, I'm in love. Great look! Congrats.

Back in the 70's I built a 30 A and made an aluminum steering column drop attached to the original A mount on tank. I used the stock tank so I did not want to mess with the mount. It is hard to tell in this picture because the dash that I built went over the back of the tank and hides the top of the mount. Just did a quick drawing to show how I did it. Looking at yours it may be too far down the column or you could use two. Anyway just made me think of it. I laugh now looking at that dash I made with the site gl*** to read the stock gas gauge. All those switches and they all worked. My hot rods now are very simple in comparison. Love the look of the coupe chopped. I had a 2dr that I took 4-1/2" out of. Good luck with the rest of what you may do with it. Excuse my drawing I just did it at my desk that is covered with stuff so it is not very good. Very cool! I thought about doing something just like that but got lazy and never got around to it. I also almost yanked all the steering stuff and was gonna do a cowl steering setup but money got tight and I left well enough alone. There’s is so much stuff I’m tempted to do but the car is simple and I like the way it looks.. just gonna have fun and find an intake and another carb when I can and keep cruising I think until I get bored. I tend to get board with cars I’ve worked my *** off on and then sold em right away.. this car is a ton of fun so while I have little parts to make here and there I’ll keep on having fun I think. Thanks for the column drop idea!

Somehow I missed this whole thread. Your coupe is sick. Perfect chop and stance. The whole vibe is right. Good job!

Thanks man gotta love this nice weather we’ve had in Virginia this winter. I’ve been able to drive it enough to where I trust it to go anywhere really. I think I’m gonna pull some stuff apart and go over it a little before spring and summer. I really hope to make it out to a few good traditional hot rod and custom shows.
