When it was a car full of teenage girls on their way to the beach. Did someone force you to work a job paying minimum wage?
I reckon this photo is actually from the mid to late '70s, folks hammimg it up during the Happy Days / American Graffitti / Sha Na Na nostalgia craze. There's a '64 Chevy in the photo, '64 is a bit late for this style of dress, pant cuffs are rolled way too high and the guy crouching next to the girl appears to be wearing Addidas sneakers.
Nope in 1965 I just turned 16 and was happy to get any job. But I was still in school and actually worked TWO minimum wage jobs at the same time. Was the assistant parts manager (shelf stocker) in the dealership one of my instructors was the old service manager. After they closed for the day went to work in the gas station until 2300. I was the same as many of my friends that did the same thing, in those days mothers didn't work and just the father working made things tight so if we wanted anything WE had to work to get it ourselves.
