Just listening to Johnny Rivers the other day. One of my favorites. Love Mountain of Love Memphis Seventh Son, Big Sur Washed my face etc etc etc. one of the all time greats. Love his version of Maybelline too.

SRV, Chris Cornell, Fantastic Negrito, Disturbed, Robert Johnson, Queenseryche, Samantha Fish, Zz Top, Yes, Led Zeppelin...

I let Spotify choose, but often lean on those artists to set my genres. Depends on my mood and what I am doing as well. It's hard to build a carburetor listening to thrash metal, but you can certainly strip paint to it!

Yeah... The early 60s seemed very much like a continuation of the late 50s until muscle cars and the Beach Boys showed up in '64.

    enigma... I have to say...
You've only posted a little over 200 times since 2007, but I sure enjoyed the Motown stuff you posted. Takes me back. Thanks.

It mostly is,for many of us, if your Jr high an High school years were good times, then that's also songs/ tunes times we mostly like the best. My transistor radio was the best sounds,ya I know that little bitty thing could not really make base, that didn't matter. It was the sounds I built my first cars with an dated girls with, still like them all. Point being,I think that's the same for many !

    I hear you, blowby.
That's why I listen to music... so I don't have to listen to myself LOL.
And I like the ambiance. In my garage, it could be decades earlier.
    Besides...
The upbeat stuff puts a little spring in my step when I'm working in the shop.
Problem is, I'm 62... and the motivation the music gives me causes me to have to sit down even sooner... cuz I'm bouncin' and boppin' around the place.

Anything that takes me back to the good old days, Doo Wap, 60s & 70s rock, old time Country (Hank Williams, Conway etc.).. These same songs are making new good old days listening to them with my grandson Angelo.. I also listen to his generation of music too and I like some of it..

This one reminds me of the day my buddy got home from Nam. We went up to Don Allen Chevrolet and picked up his brand new silver DZ302, that car was super badass! It had an am/fm stereo radio with 8 track as the only option. This was playing,

Other than the mere fact that we even exist...
Music is the closest thing to real magic that I know.
    The soundtracks of our lives.
And of those who came before us.
    It can make you laugh.
    I can make you cry.
It can make you move your ass. And for me...
    That's real magic. LOL

    Christmas is near.
My favorite Christmas song, I think.
    Gets me every time.

    Darlene Love
    Christmas
    Baby please come home

    Merry Christmas, everyone.

  28. Brenda & I were treated to a fine dinner at a upscale (not in our budget) country inn restaurant and they had a gentleman playing Christmas music on a electric piano, he was playing all the old standards and some newer tunes, but the one that put a huge smile on my face was Linus & Lucy Christmas.

Just brings back a lot of Childhood memories. HRP
