Did you see where TEN is no longer going to be producing 19 out of the 23 automotive magazines that they have. I’m ***uming that sales and advertising are down with so much done on the internet these days.

Yes i saw that Jason and I agree the print magazines are not in as much demand as they once were. I also see that the Petersen archives has made many great photos available with watermarks. Hopefully that will lead somewhere positive with many great photos we have yer to see. As to Bones, he has posted that information on Facebook and I agree it is good stuff indeed. I have tried to get him to chime in on occasion without success. Years ago I spoke to Bones at the Meltdown and I only hope I get to ask him more questions at some point in time.

He not only had ***ociation with J& J but also Mazmanian's Vette and Charlie Wilson's Vicious Vette (and probably others). Good with engines as well as talented behind the wheel.

    Hello,
Having been a Long Beach,CA local for many years and a LionsDragstrip regular for our teenage years, it was always impressive to see any car that Bones Balogh built or drove. He built a similar 671 SBC with Stromberg carbs in his Chevy for the Gas Coupe/Sedan cl*** and we built a similar one during the same time period for our 1940 Willys Coupe in C/Gas.

During those early sports car races, people just had fun driving the daylights out of the Corvettes. But, as the need for more speed hit most everyone, then came the Modified Sports Car cl*** and those powerful race cars. Street driven was a questionable thing, but they were very fast.

Here is my interpretation of that famous Purple Corvette from back in those early days. (excuse the artsy drawings.)

1964 Worlds Fair Corvette. Side pipe covers were plastic and exhaust not functioning. :)

A rally of car enthusiasts in New York all driving 1950’s Corvette Convertibles made by Chevrolet.

EDIT: from bowie they are NOT stingrays.

Hey the guy that wrote the caption didn't know that. :)

    fixed it.

  19. I thought 63-67 they were Sting Ray’s ( two words) and after 1968 they were Stingray’s

Not only that but I don't even see a quad headlight car anywhere in the grouping. Must have been before 1958?

Is that Ed Cole front and center in the "StingRay"?

Does anyone see any dual headlights? They all seem to be pre 58 and post 55, so I guess that would mean 56 and 57. It looks different when you write it down as opposed to thinking out loud.
