Maybe it's a stretch on "Induction" per se, but often a custom air scoop. or scoops, can be the icing on the cake. This is the optional air scoop for my Hilborn 4-port injector on my blown drag boat, pictured on the previous page , post #5426.

 

It is still part of induction in my opinion. The scoop looks great Spike.

The ole Spikester hisself, gotta love 60s era dragsters, shot taken a the CHRR Bakersfield. Hilborn upright, Teflon stripped rotors, and overdriven windmill gets it done. I don't know why the photo got that pink tinge going on there. Look out Milner, I just took out the Hunt Bros ,second round....

 

By now, a few of you guys are probably noticing that I have a batch of hot boat images...….well, I'm just as into the boats as I am cars, and there is a broader range of engines lurking in some of these old slippers. I just thought I'd throw some up here.

 

425 Olds, rare Sharp genuine blower manifold, valve covers, and timing cover. This is the "Terrifying Toronado" car.

 

Dig this......A "reverse grind" cam in a Nailhead Buick. The engine , distributor, oil pump, all turn in the regular direction, however, the cam events have been ground so that the former intake lobes are now positioned as the exhaust, and vise-versa. Blower pressurizes into the typically weak Buick exhaust ports which wakes them up, and exhales out former intake ports on top, underneath the blower. Exceptional bit of hot rodding and execution. Owner uses it for skiing and recreation.
And you thought your motor was trick...….

 

I concur Mike and about the most iconic air scoop from the 60's, regardless of what it is on.
I had one screwed to the wall in my shop for a long time and decided to sell it with some other items to generate some project money.
Funny thing, the buyer didn't flinch at my advertised price, leading me to believe I had priced it too low.
By the way Spike, are you still with RHS?

As much as I like the Surfers and all they stood for my vote goes for Red Greth’s Speed Sport scoop. Laid up by Red himself and only handed out to a chosen few.
