Hooked up the new heater core and hopefully sealed up the windshield leaks. Maybe some new tires this payday.

 

I had some laser work on my right eye today, to "fill-in some holes". I was told Wednesday I had a bad cataract in my left eye, requiring surgery in the near future. Everything can be fixed, the good doctors say. Soon, I will be able to see just exactly how many windows a '32 Ford sedan really does have.

 

Made a cart to roll my pickup project around on. Saves my back and allows me to work outside. Weather permitting

 

Got a phone call a guy wanting a rebuildable 289 ford short block core. So I went to our other place and dug one out and brought it home. complete engine. I pulled it apart. it had 66 rail rocker heads and a C5 block. Got it all stripped down and on the engine hoist ready for him to come get it tomorrow. Not to bad condition for a engine that been setting for about 30 years.

 

Tuned up a buddy's Henry J , has an sbc in it. Changed the fuel regulator on Bobs 34 3 window. After that went and looked at a 55 Chevy 4dr wagon with power everything , most optioned 55 wagon Iv'e ever seen. Sadly the floors were really bad and the owner wanted a little too much. Still a good day in my book

Tried to make 8 slots in a piece of tool steel .022 deep by .1287 +/- .0001

 

Scored some needed stuff. $200 and they're full!

 

Cleaned the surfaces and removed the valve springs from a set of heads I'm going to use soon. New valve springs are on order. Got rid of 2 coffee cans worth of crap. Put new wire in the welder. Cleaned and organized a drawer in my tool box, gave my son some stuff I'm not going to use. Drank beer.

Planning my escape. Actually only 3 nights in the hospital and 3 before I figured out I’m no so tough. I tried my other new alternator mount and had some interference with it too, so I ordered a small alternator and will have to wait to see if it fits or not.



Then I tried making a Christmas tree out of some wheels from my stash but I just couldn't get that last one on, to many shapes and size variations to work, would've been cool with those Christmas lights reflecting on it though.

 

The good news is I managed to test my pal's theory that running the car in reverse on jack stands for awhile might help. I did that for over 15 minutes. Decided to change the trans fluid, too. Trans fluid looked good... almost just like the new fluid. Jack stands are easy when using a lift.
The bad news is the transmission is still not shifting as it should... bummer!!
It is not coming out of first until about 3,500 rpm. Haven't gotten on enough open roadway to test 3,500 rpm in second!
Got another tip from another pal that I'll look into soon. He thinks something plastic governing the shifts might have broken in the transmission.

Installed new headers yesterday.

 

Installed new belts. On the garage CD changer. A guy gotta have some music. Forgot to take photos, so you will have to take my word.

I'm building a replacement engine for a friend, who who finally wore out the one in his truck.

I had everything in stock, except the belts.

He's going through a rough patch, so this one is on me. He could use a break in his bad luck.

 

I have had this 4' X 8' chalkboard for nearly 30 years, tried to give it away, even thought about taking it to the dump. I finally prepared a spot to put it up, now I won't have to draw lines on the floor. It's my 50's era Cad Cam design center.

 

Hang in there brother, don't do like i did and go straight to the Mexican restaurant lol. I'm on a 10lb weight restriction until after Christmas. I weigh 300lbs so how am i supposed to go take a shit! Don't be surprised if your shoulders start hurting, weird side effect but it's a real thing. Guess i got 2 weeks to lay here and post on the hamb

Sold a 289 ford short block. Kinda wanted to keep it. However ive had it 30 years and haven't looked at it for 25 years. Ive got three more in the hoard. Fed the wood stove and played with the grandsons. Its a cold wet dreary day. All the livestock & poultry where glad to see me when I fed them.

The Flame Thrower coil I ordered from Speedway arrived late yesterday. I really did not need it, finding that my persistent miss was because the coil wire was just laying in cap and not really pushed down, and I had a FT coil in it from day one, but this one being new and shiny looks good. That allowed me to put the plug wire covers back also (Hemi motor) and the new dual quad air cleaner as well.
Also made a few other minor adjustments just because I wanted to listen to the Seahawks kick butt on the Panthers. GGGGo Hawks.

 

I extended my HF Cherry picker so I didn't have to get the forklift out with the stinger.

I also gave my hood latch to the shop that put a windshield in my daily.

The brick was free, the noise was loud. The feeling was exhilarating.

 

I finished building the rear axle for the Tot-Rod and gave it a test fit. I also got some pieces for the steering cut down and ready for welding. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon...

 

More insulation and false work,

Busted my ass this weekend. 16 hrs worth today mostly on the ground. Yesterday was up 17 feet and back down about 321 times.
I can’t do any shop work in here right now it’s such a jumbled mix. I’m pretty sure if a tornado came thru it would probably put some stuff back. You can kinda see some of my Vicky back there.
I’ve got 14 pieces of insulation cut and ready to hang. When that’s up (hopefully tomorrow) I’ll be officially 1/2 done. Then I can shove everything over to the other side and work on insulating the other 1/2.

 

Well, it snowed last night, usually get fluff, but got six inches of ugly wet stuff, so most of the day plowing my driveway, my neighbours, and my other neighbours, my john deere 322 gets quite the workout. Poor old girl was made in 84, runs and runs, ten years I've had it, cuts my grass all summer, plows all winter. Stared at my dodge some more, tomorrow gonna mount the column.
