  5. ^^^ mine (th350) was doing the same thing with the higher rpm shifts, my vaccum hose had a pinhole in it causing it and did the same thing from the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift.

  7. Added some gizmos to Mike's doors; maybe he will lose his fear of falling out. We also mounted a Mighty Wiper. Arm is not on in pic; but anyone know why these park several degrees from full travel? IMG_20191216_142513.jpeg IMG_20191216_142534.jpeg

  8. Sold the seat and adjusting hardware from a AD chevy truck to a guy fixing a 54 model. A couple of our sheep have been escaping. So the grandsons & I spent some considerable time trying to find their escape hole and patching those likely places. I think we might have it fixed?

327, buddy has had this for over 30 years. He is hoping for a rering, personally I would have it bored with new pistons.
Got one of the pistons soaking now, when I get it cleaned up we'll see if it will fly.

  13. Put it in a coffee can of water add a tiny bit of dish liquid and put it on the stove bring it to a boil and then let it simmer a bit. the rings will loosen up and the piston pin free up in the piston. Works for me

I have it soaking in some carburetor cleaner. All the pins are free. The rings came out without much trouble.

That’s Awesome, cracked the wife up...my hospital bed had some special air system that intermittently moved to different pockets in the mattress. I could hear the small pump coming on and off. I’m sure it was for bed sore prevention. I wanted to get under the bed and see how did it worked... never did. Just another thing to look up.:p

Since I escaped the hospital and made some recovery I slipped out of the house to have breakfast with bunch of buddies and after went to the polisher who had my sons Howard 5-2 manifold for his GMC. I’ve never seen one polished but there is no turning back now. 7E260357-6BCE-42DF-8557-D4F9CAD1BDF8.jpeg

  19. The sun was shining and it got to a wopping 40 degrees. So I went after firewood. Took a antique ( $10 auction buy) XL12 Homelite chain saw and cut down the trees. and then cut off the stump low to the ground. Got the chain pretty dull. Used a little bitty ($5 auction buy) Poulan saw to cut off all the limbs too small to make firewood. I leave the small limbs in the woods they will eventually rot. Then took my JD tractor and drug the trees out of the woods to the edge of the field. Cut them up into firewood length with a Huskvarna (I bought it new 20 years ago) chain saw. Cut down twenty trees and made them into firewood. threw one load on my truck and brought it home. I had drained the coolant from the JD tractor so I refilled it with new antifreeze and distilled water. Its now good for 40 below.

After some off-topic work with disk brakes and rally wheels, I'm back to work on the Jimmy 302.

Organized, put away the wheel painting materials and cleared the deck for the next planned task. Deerslayer's 400 CFM Carter AFB Carburetor has been in pieces for 3-1/2 years. Long past time to get it back together.

When I took this thing apart, the parts were organized in muffin tins with post-it note labels. Hopefully, this will cut down my confusion during reassembly. Most of the ferrous parts have developed surface rust over the years. They will have to spend some time in the Evapo-Rust basket.

worked on hood for the roadster...Ive always thought a 1 piece hood stops too short right at beltline and always prefered the 30 A hood for the little skirt below the beltline, so I am building hood attachment rails that will extend the hood down slightly...will be painted to match the hood. 8006517E-F10B-433B-AB54-066227772E1E.jpeg B04BAB8E-08E8-4C0C-978A-D468C95FED53.jpeg

December 20th 2019 It's time to strip down and remove Deerslayer's cab for the next phase of the work while I'm scratching my head over the carburetor. Dropped the front end down on the jack stands to level out the truck. Now I can jockey the door lift into position to take off the doors. Some of the door hinge screws want to stay where they are. Now, I'm trying different methods of extraction, with limited success. Beer of the day is River Horse Brewing Company's Oatmeal Milk Stout.
