Technical ugly

I always thought the Stout Scarab was the best example of the genre of like vehicles from the mid '30s.
I had the good fortune to see one 'in the flesh' once several years ago. Really nicely appointed and trimmed.

1961 Dodge Phoenix.

 

I figure I should at least put in the wacko truck that started my love with old, big, and ugly, I bought this 41 G.M.C. K-18 signal corps panel truck when I was 17 and I drove it in high school. Some before and after pictures. It was sold by me 6 years ago, to a person that fell in love with it, it has a certain amount of brute ugly going for it as well.

 

I know it will catch flak but ever since I saw a 55/56 Ford Crown Victoria, I though that was about the ugliest top ever put on a car. I have never ever like that big piece of chrome going across the top of the car. The hardtop always just looked cleaner to me.

 

1938 Oldsmobile could win an ugly contest.

 

Hope it doesn't hurt anyones feelings...

 

Car 54.....

 

I started a thread like this a couple of years ago that quickly got closed. "What kind of car you wouldn't be seen driving in high school, would you drive now!"
I offered up the '62 Studebaker Lark that I stuffed a 300hp 327 into. It was your "mama's car " when I was growing up. I find myself drawn to the odd and ugly cars at the shows... kinda reminds of myself

 

Strait out of the Cars movie, nash grill just does it!! Don't know if it beats my Crosley!

 

Well some parts of it are actually quite attractive:

 

I have a 1953 Ply Just like yours. Mine is blue. Some say ugly some say nice. Runs good .

 

Nochop you beat me to the 61 Plymouth.
Plymouth started the ugly trend in 1960 with this bucket of ugly.

The 61 face looks like a crab.

 

Some neat features on the 61 though, you can see where the customizers took cues or vice versa Detroit

 

what's with the droopy headlights?

 

And kept the dream alive in '62

I had one like that(37 3 window) when I was 17 & thought it was ugly but wish I had it now & the same with my 37 hupmobile that I wish I had kept.

 

HEY, I had a 1964 just like that.. same color also.. Loved it.

Not a "car" but I really like my 1957 Dodge Sweptside pickup while thinking it is ugly. Flat front n fins are an unusual combo.
Maybe someone can post a pic.
