much like Rustydusty - when at car shows- I can't help to be pulled in by theses ugly ducklings and odd balls! After looking at rows of cookie cutter cars I just need some spice and often notice things I've not noticed before. But there are a few I would consider on the ugly side!
The Valiant fastback. They should have taken their time with the design instead of trying to beat Ford with the Mustang introduction with this cobbled together nightmare.
I have a Grumman bread van that looks just like your avatar. Used the Cummins diesel for something else, the remains are now a storage shed.
A product (some would say byproduct) of the 1970s, the Reliant Robin is definitely OT. It is also the subject of one of the best Top Gear bits ever:
I had one like that(37 3 window) when I was 17 & thought it was ugly but wish I had it now & the same with my 37 hupmobile that I wish I had kept.[/QUOTE] Damn, Bob! I thought I was the only one who likes 30s Hup coupes. I'd love to get one.
Pretty ugly, pretty or ugly, pretty and ugly, prettyugly. Can it be both? It can't be both. It's pretty severely ugly. Just an opinion, and you all know what opinions are.
‘49 Lincoln’s are a sad looking ugly but I still wouldn’t sell mine. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Objection, Your Honor! Different is not UGLY, ID/DS is one of the most beautiful designs ever. Only it is truly one of the kind. I am always astonished, when the same people that blames DS admire Jaguar E-type. Jaguar XK120 was the most beautiful sports car in the 50's and the C-type is truly a work of art in every respect. In my mind E-type was only a facelift of C-type, which failed, because the E body is unbalanced. The cockpit is too high and too far back.
You rarely see one of these, do people think they are Ugly? Of all the late Willys noses I like this one the best. Bob
That Robin Reliant video was funny as all get out. I was laughing so hard,,,tears were rolling ! Great post ! Tommy
as already noted by a few with excellent eye for fugly any of exners early 60s designs(using the term design loosely)I always felt he and leary collabarated (sp) in one of their drug binges
