  2. Here's some tin needing some bending. It's a start.

It came to me after I posted, Gaslight Auto Parts bought the tooling from Dan. I called decades ago to inquire about them and the person on the phone had no clue as to what I was talking about.

Sounds warmer! If your coming threw Kansas City feel free to give a hollar :)

  5. .... well, you are creeping closer to Oregon. So there is that ! :)

Good luck moving. G#d damn I hate moving. :(

  6. Well as life likes to do, not all things went according to plan. First house fell through but the second and better house with more property is ours. All though still on the trailer (hopefully not much longer) the T is finally in the same place as me. The fourth coming pictures are the start to my body work. Still following, this has me wanting another T especially after hearing it run when you retarded the timeing. If mine stopped on a compression stroke and I turned the ign. On and wiggled the spark leaver sometimes it would start off compression. Had lots of fun with T when you could buy them for $10.00 out of someone's back yard.

  8. I guess this finally gives up the question of what body I choose to use. It's a 26/27 enclosed cab TT. I had those back corners made 6 inches longer that stock. After sitting in a stock TT, my 6'3" body stature did not fit so well. Here you can see the cab coming back together.

  10. Technical difficulties seem to fixed. Here are the pictures of the cab going back together. The last picture was just for fun. 20190321_060915.jpeg 20190321_060909.jpeg 20190321_060858.jpeg 20190321_060839.jpeg 20190321_060827.jpeg IMG_20190330_143627_04.jpeg 20190331_141530.jpeg IMG_20190403_170406_01.jpeg 20190403_200217.jpeg

I see you have a Lurker in the back near the compressor...and quite frankly you are quite a genius, Always enjoy following your build, thanks for sharing the good times...;)

  12. Cool part about the enclosed TT cab is that everything is riveted together. I left the cowl in the stock location and slide the cab down to the height I wanted. Built some mounts. The front cab mounts are identical to Fords design and attach the same while the rear mounts are just plan jane mounts. 20190406_073149.jpeg 20190406_073157.jpeg 20190409_172444.jpeg 20190406_162218.jpeg 20190406_162228.jpeg 20190406_162245.jpeg 20190406_162309.jpeg 20190408_183637.jpeg 20190408_183640.jpeg IMG_20190412_192306_02.jpeg IMG_20190412_192306_01.jpeg 20190412_184740.jpeg 20190407_132404.jpeg 20190407_135305.jpeg 20190407_172238.jpeg

Is the cab extension going to leave you with a blind spot while driving?

I think it's inherent in a lot of our rides and I'm actually surprised and thankful we don't hear or see many incidents related to this...

  17. Yes it will a bit. I'm used to having a pillar next to me. I still need to figure out a mirror situation.

  21. I agree. I wanted a speedster but I have a hard time liking any one body. I don't like the naked look either. The mercury bodies are ok, the Laurel speedster looks cool from the front but has a unmotivated rear. I'm on the fence towards boat tails as well. So I choose an oxymoron, a speedster truck.

  22. Work on the bed. It's a 30 something Ford bed. Had some major rebuilding to do on the bed frame. Cut the box down and mounted it. It needs some refinement, but it's on and I didn't have to worry about it blowing off in the 1800+ mile move. 20190416_181317.jpeg 20190416_181324.jpeg 20190416_183408.jpeg IMG_20190504_185205_01.jpeg IMG_20190507_182622_01.jpeg

Just checking in, kind of a surprise seeing it go from speedster to a truck, nicely done. Best wishes for 2020. Bob

  24. The nice part is that it all unbolts easily when I decide to change bodies. I've been toying around with the idea of a cloth speedster body. Once I make up my mind on a style that is.

So many ways to build a speedster, and I have been working on mine for a few years now and made many changes trying to get the look I want. You Sir have created a very interesting and unique look. Thank you for your creativity.

  28. TT cab and car chassis have different steering geometry for the column. Doesn't help that I lowered the cab. We ended up making this box section and using a car bracket at the pitman arm and added some new VW bits and hot damn we have steering. Made brackets for shocks and tided them into the headlight bracket. 20190420_182340.jpeg 20190420_182346.jpeg 20190420_182358.jpeg 20190422_061228.jpeg

  29. Drove it to my buddies house for a quick together before I left three days later. And this is how my T currently looks like. Still needs a bunch of little stuff like a floor, seat, windows, etc. It's been awesome getting to this point. 20190524_155607.jpeg 20190524_155615.jpeg 20190524_155629.jpeg 20190524_155634.jpeg 20190524_155707_HDR.jpeg
