Hey guys, looking to find a technical drawing or specs of a 32 pickup. I am working on a project for these to be done in 1:18 scale and I cannot seem to find any good blueprints or dimensions online. Need body with, truck bed width etc. I also am wondering if the 32 sedan frame is the same as the trucks or if anything is shared between the two? Thanks all!!

  2. The pickup was built on the passenger car chassis so the frame is the same. Interesting to note almost all pickups were 4 cylinder. There are a few dimensions in the book "The 1932 Ford Book" published by the Early Ford V8 Club (https://shop.efv8.org/collections/ford-books/products/1932-ford-book-softbound-all-new), see page A-5-8.

Truck unique parts compared to car are:
    Main body
Grill shell is generally same but no removable insert
    Black headlight buckets
    Black tail light bucket
Unique rear fenders (but for what you are doing they look like car fenders)
Metal running boards (no rubber covers)

Great info. I am glad the frame is confirmed the same along with some other things I was aware of. I appreciate that.

  4. For doing a 1:18 scale model, there was a series years ago done of 34 pickups. The cabs between 32-34 are all the same in terms of the general height, length and width. Some of the big differences was the 32 pickup used the same passenger car firewall. the 33-34 pieces were different. The back of the 34 cab is slightly different too with an extra bead band across the back. The big dimension difference is in the bed itself. The gap between the front of the box to the arch of the rear fender is alot shorter on a 32 than a 33/34 pickup.

The ‘32 Pickup did use the rubber covered running boards same as the automobiles.

  8. I realize this isn't what you asked, but be careful to not get into a position where you should have a licensed product. Many automotive manufacturers have sued people for selling toys etc., in the likeness of their product without their consent.
