A response from FB on the pickup. Here it is:
'MurrayPlant's unfinished A pick up in front of the Pagoda Ballroom on the Pain and Freeway in Perth WA. This would be the last day of the 69 or 70 Car Spectacular as best as I can tell. The car never got finished or else has been rebirthed in a different guise.

I've done tests like that. Those seats are COLD! I used to take a piece of bubble wrap to sit on.

I believe the first photo is Freddie Winnai at Indianapolis in 1940. If so, he missed the show.

Is there any info on the second shot, Rootie? Since it's a paved track I'm guessing Thompson but I don't know for sure.
