I was one of those that saw the tribute lincoln at the Hoedown and it brought back memories of The Fonze when I was a mere lad at Englishtown in the mid 80's when my Dad had a car we often cruised those days.

Like someone else already mentioned, I was just as fascinated with the all the stuff he had inside as I was with this low sculpted merc that breathed fire.

There will never be another Fonze like the NJ Fonze.

I didn't read it here but didn't he appear with his merc on one of the car building shows like Hot Rod, muscle car, horsepower, or something in the early 2000's, cuz that's when I heard about Joe. He was a fuckin RULER and always will be!! RIP Joe.

13 yrs, where did the time go???
Seems like his passing marked a turn of the tides in many ways. The shows, the people etc...
True to himself through and through. RIP Joe

That's when Lead East was LEAD East, almost always a real good time. Plus over the years we got to see a lot of NJ as Terry moved it around!

  27. How many mercs did Fonz build? I see earlier in the thread that one was in Sweden, but the owner of the white one says he bought it from Joe in the 90s, and I think he's in PA.

I remember seeing him, and the car at several runs and "shows"; wasn't really sure what to make of it at the time. The first pic was at a Lead East; second one was at Englishtown. Both mid to late '80s. Love to know how they got it on the roll back! Arcadia Exxon happened to be my first job; "Petroleum transfer engineer" as it were. One of the brothers was my neighbor (John).

  29. I've heard many different numbers over the years. Some say over forty, but the most credible source I've read says he built twelve. E
