    That's poor engineering..........there's no safety to keep from accidently opening the door.:rolleyes:

    Would have been safer to just tie a rope around the door jamb.

    I have no pictures of the car but I bought a vehicle from a farmer several years back and both door latched were broken. So the old fellow used some red neck ingenuity and screwed slider gate latches to the inside of each door like the one I attached for reference gate latch.jpg .

    I think pan head screws would have worked better along with metal screws.:D:D.I realize you posted an example just could not resist:oops::oops:

    Well he might have screwed the wood screws into a 2X4 on the back side for reinforcement.

    Well at the time I thought the Gate latches were bad enough. But once I got into the brakes I almost **** as one front line and the main feed to the rear were copper and the rear won actually had a splice joint that was soldered together. It is amazing to see what some people actually did to get by. Lol
