    OMG, is the seller still an active HAMBer, did they intimate that they'd fixed it and didn't have time to finish; or purchased it to finish however they didn't have the time to? I'm not naive and still can't believe someone would do something like that and went to such extraordinary lengths to disguise the shoddy work. Deliberate deception or did they bite off more than they can chew at the time? Either way, cudos to you for taking it on and the remarkable transformation, great stuff! I'd love be your apprentice even at my age, you never stop learning new skills. I've seen a few cars restored from something that looked fantastic to begin with, it's only when they started looking deeper that they were back to square one and stripping it back to a shell, fixing things that were purportedly done right previously. It's sad that these people breed and steel oxygen. Your talent has no bounds like many HAMB metal shapers.

    Stumpy...thanks.
    Not sure of the intentions of the seller although he did mud it inside and out. He said he was selling the body cause he bought a glass coupe. And he did. I dont know who the guy is. The owner has his info.

    I bet this guy was a roofer, thinking that he needed some good overlap to improve drainage and prevent any further corrosion, and the bondo was just like blackjack to protect it for years to come.

    Helluva nice job on your part and even better to help a friend out!

  6. Awsum work: if Clark sez it'll buff out that is just what he means. Wish I lived closer as I'd pay just to watch him perform his magic.

    Well everything just seemed to get in the way of making progress on the car. Well im back on it! Billy got to see how the car will sit. Not too bad. I gotta fit the doors next. 20191226_173942.jpg

  11. Billy should be thrilled, all things considered. I talked to him about a year ago, don't really know him, but chatted with him briefly at a function. He was telling me about the mess with the car and how someone was performing a miracle with it. It didn't dawn on me 'til much later, when I started reading this thread that it was this car!.....Great work, Clark...............................Don.

    Shows no sign of the mess you started with. An amazing transition. Brilliant work Clark.

    @Clark...The resurrection of the flap job mobile...that is like many transitions witnessed here at the Hamb...Nothing short of amazing...

    It's been said there is pretty much a fix for everything and you really have brought credence to that...not an easy journey but a challenge and what an incredible reward that must be...

    Thanks for sharing this...

    Clark;
    Thanks for the pics on the fixes. I'm amazed at your talent. Good on you for helping the friend - karma will come back in ways you don't know until after it happens. Too bad you can't bottle your excess skill(s). I'd buy some. :D . Marcus...

    Made a column drop and dual gloveboxes for the car. Gotta make the hinges and the box itself. 20200202_181649.jpg 20200202_182556.jpg
