Does anyone know where I can buy just the bulb holders s for 50 Pontiac tailights? Im searching and I don't know what the hell im doing wrong but I cant find these things. Im about to just try and rig something up. Thanks To be clear I'm looking for 6 volt original type not led or anything
Here are some suggestions https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...950-pontiac-tail-light-repair-service.877121/ Hope this helps. Phil
Right. Unless you're doing a restoration, there are lots of inexpensive alternatives. You might even be able to buy perfect repros for less than you have in upgrading yours. If you are dead set on restoration, look at the restorers' ads in Hemmings.
Napa use to have them, usually hanging on a revolving rack, I purchased new ones for the wagon from them. HRP
It's just a socket......... Any chain store should have one that fit's.... Unless your a restorer, then your probably looking on the wrong site. Know what your looking for, as in dimmention's and not by application's, and you'll be fine.
Thanks everyone. I went to every parts store around. I ended up buying a pair of replacement sockets that could probably work. Theyre plastic and im not too jazzed by them so I'm going to follow up on a few of you guys suggestions. Thanks everyone
Here are metal ones.Cheap. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sockets-bu...682054&hash=item25823c450e:g:Jn8AAOxyM1VRXj~q
I may have some from a couple parts cars. I will look for them and let you know what condition they are in.
I hope there is a provision for grounding if they really are plastic.as others said if you have an automotive store nearby look in there help rack
I have these originals from a 50. Sorry about the last pic being out of focus. If you need a better one let me know. Also, let me know if you are interested in them. I will make you a good deal on them.
Now yer talkin... I got a set for my Ford from The Wiring Depot for a GM application. IIRC the Ford hole was 5/8" and the GM ones were 1 1/8". Easy enough to open up and the metal tabs make a great ground.
