Thanks for the advice, just wanted to make sure it was covered since a lot of it was bare. We have quite a bit of leakage in our garage to the point that it might as well be outside. So I'm just protecting what I have so far.

Alright guys!!! It's official... I have a complete floor!!!! How freaking awesome! We still need to cover the support ends and fabricate some toe boards, but that will take no time at all. Dad's been doing a lot so we've all been a little distracted from the car.. but that doesn't mean we haven't been thinking about her. Yesterday our rear bumper came and today the tail lights.. so the post office LOVES our house right now lol.. I want to do something special with the tail lights but not sure what I can do. They're a rediculously large size and can't really fabricate too much... But any and all ideas and inspiration would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks for any input! IMG_20200402_190704601.jpeg IMG_20200402_185039775.jpeg IMG_20200402_171153693.jpeg

Fords with big round taillights are cool! You mighy look into adapting some Galaxie lenses instead, it used to be a popular thing way back when.

I was wondering if they would fit, but they always looked smaller. For now, these will do.. but it's DEFINITELY something I'm going to look into. Do you happen to know what year that fit in the 64-65 rancheros? Just curious because I could definitely try to snag a pair. These tail lights were $20 on eBay, which felt like a no brainier for me to make it legal, and fix it later.

I do not know for certain, but it seems to me that 1963 may have been what was used by some folks. If I see any, I will try and get a measurement, but there are very few older cars here any more except for the same ol' chevrolets. You can also gain backup lights when you do this.

Refreshing that you use correct terminology- and you are aware of what's needed, and what has been done, and also your plan of attack.......! Get after it!

Hey guys! Dad is officially on the HAMB! Give him a shout out, he's been really excited about this build. He's been watching this thread from afar but finally decided to log on last night. (He had an inactive account and made it active again) I'll post a link to his post so you can she dad some love, I know some of you already have lol!

Also, I didn't post it, but I got sheet metal for the toe boards and support ends, so I'll be making them shortly. As most of you know, on the weekends we work in dads cars.. yesterday we rebuilt a headlight actuator for his 77 Corvette... Let me tell you, pain.. pain.. PAIN!!! We got one side done and didn't think it did anything considering it didn't go down right away.. so we thought why bother with the other side. He went to go pick up my son and he came up the driveway winking at me [emoji6]
So today we do the other side. But I digress, hopefully this doesn't take too long and I'll be able to cut the sheet metal and/or form it tonight.
If you read this whole thing, you deserve a cookie! Lol

I have to say welcome to the HAMB. I’m glad your dad joined and posted the link to your build.
It’s refreshing to see your love and commitment to our hobby-obsession.

I’m going to follow along and pour through the rest of your thread, in the meanwhile I have some garage time to take care of.

So.. remember how I said we don't work on my stuff during the weekend? I was wrong. (Sorry dad) we learned that we did fix the one headlight on the Corvette and tried to fix the other this morning.. didn't work, but we now know the issue. We will continue on that as we go..
BUT WE GOT MY MOTOR HOME!!
I CANNOT wait to dig into it and see what's going on with it. Wish me luck!! IMG_20200405_152859583_HDR.jpeg IMG_20200405_150952002_HDR.jpeg IMG_20200405_153839362_HDR.jpeg IMG_20200405_150422770_HDR.jpeg [ATTAC/ATTACH]

Yes, it feels so good that I can now tinker with the motor when I have free time. It will be quite the process, I know... But just having it here has given me a peace of mind. Plus, dad got garage space... So, win win!!

  30. Hold the phone! You mentioned cookies! Can I have some please? Is your engine a 302 or 289? Both great Ford engines. Check out Northern Auto Parts in Sioux City, Iowa got engine parts. They have a great website.
