Most vendors on ebay have almost doubled the price from six months ago. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...4.TR0.TRC2.A0.H0.TRS5&_nkw=CC+850&_sacat=6030 If you are planning on doing it this looks like the best deal. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=440358&cc=1105041&jsn=579
Mine were $50 delivered on Amazon, back 5 years ago. I tried to sell them years ago since I had them in the car shortly, shipping was close to $40 so I still have them.
With so many folks being happy with the Aerostars on a lot of forums and praising the ride and handling with the switch to a progressive spring, what made you remove them ?
There’s a couple pick and pulls around my area that have aerostars on the lot. I can always pull them if people are looking for them. It’s got to be cheaper to do that, right?
true being it’s a new product. Shipping for me is $18. I looked at the prices and it’s around $17.50 if I pull them locally.
There are better springs than the CC850, like the CC851. But try telling that to the sheeple. They were simply too short and my front tires (215/75-15) rubbed on normal turns.
Same here. They're listed at $70 on Amazon Prime now (CC850s). Still hard to beat that deal - new, ready to install, and shipped to your front door for free.
CC850 are going for $175CAD on Amazon.ca as of today! I bought mine last September, the AC Delco branded ones, pair cost me $65CAD, I believe the Moogs were around $90CAD when I ordered last. Looks like we'll only see Aerostar coils in salvage yards sooner than later.
I'm tempted now to buy another pair just to stash away for the future. eta: I just did. Today's price was down to $59.26 with Prime.
On my 55 with dropped spindles both the 850 and 851 were too low. There was very little difference between the two springs.
okiedokie, Have you found a way to raise your front suspension? Remove dropped spindles or use longer springs, or insulator bushings? I'm in the same predicament looking for a solution.
Installed the original springs. I would like it about 1” lower so may cut a coil but just going to put some miles on it for now
This should work https://www.energysuspensionparts.com/universal-coil-spring-isolators.asp Check to be sure but I think your spring diameter is a hair over 4" maybe part # 9.6101 ?
I have Versailles spindles with Aerostars on my wagon. No issues at all and drives great. But I'm running stock wheels with 670-15 tires. I had to cut the bump stops a bit but I never get any tire rub or bottoming out.
I have them because I didn’t want to change the spindles to lower it. Needed 2 different energy suspension spacers to make it level. They were for Toyota pickup rears. The Aerostars are different in a road dip because of the compound wound style but I live with it. After I had it done I saw where a few guys removed the rivets on the lower a-arms and bolted in 2 to 2-1/2” spacers so all stock components were kept.
Anyone want to pick up a set in South New Jersey area? Email me, I’m not on here as much. I work in healthcare and am just fried most nights. Steveodeluxe@gmail.com
