When I saw this advertisement it was kind of funny as I wondered how many kids at that time would actually watch Dragnet?
I believe that car was co-owned by John Kurtzman and I forget the other guy's name. John also was making headers back in those day's along with doing the lettering and pinstriping on many of the cars that raced at Dover Drag Strip.
Everybody watched and/or listened to Dragnet. Kids watched/listened to what was on the family TV/radio in those days. Regardless of what one thinks of Joe Friday, Jack Webb was a good guy!
The PC police called. They would like you to changed that caption to" Sobriety Challenged Global Warming Enhancer"
That's Jimmy and Danny Caruthers with Bill Cosby. I believe Jimmy had a good friend who produced that movie "Man and Boy" in the early 70s with Cosby in it. I don't think the movie had anything to do with racing but it was the sponsor for the Caruthers' midget as a way to advertise the movie.
Are you kidding? Dragnet, Gangbusters, Highway Patrol, M Squad, and The Untouchables were all favorites.
I rooted for Friday as he was all business. I Guess you wudn't have liked Jack Webb in "The DI" either.
