Tibbs made his own wooden bucks to form the body. I read it sat in front of a restaurant in Saugus for quite a while.

The important thing is that the family is ok. A lot of notable cars are lost. The Timbs special was one that I'm especially sad to see that happen to.

There are arguments that cars can be replaced as well...These are historic original icons they were the real deal one offs not 1 of two million Jeeps or BM's produced...That is catastrophic as well...As I have stated this whole situation is tragic. To fluff historic loss off as nothing is naive. Thoughts again to those affected and in harms way.

@oldpl8s, where did you find that picture of the Kurtis-Omohundro Comet?

 

I don't know what happened to the wreck, but as the body was made of aluminium, I guess all that's left was the chassis covered by a blob of molten aluminium.

 

My assumption was wrong. The Timbs Streamliner will be restored!

I can't remember where I found the photo. I thought it looked like the Timbs car but wasn't sure it was the same car

 

I wonder how much of it is left to "restore". Some of these historic restorations seem to entail more recreation than restoration. Not that it's a bad thing just that the line of restoration is sometimes a bit blurry.

 

I was wondering the same that's why I wrote my first comment. Probably there's more left than I thought. Or only the chassis is left and they will be hammering out a complete new body.

 

It brings a smile to the grill.... It will be Again.... Hope we have a connection here on the HAMB with Whoever is the chosen Creator.... This is gonna be Good!
