MY 58 PLYMOUTH---I bought it somewhat poor condition that needed a full restoration. The paint is Plum Crazy all lacquer and finished in March of 92.,custom tuck and roll interior in 2011. The front lower grill was replaced with 24 louvers punched into stock steel and welded in..The wheels were steels from my 56 Dodge painted red (1 pic) with G78x15 bias ply,now have 15x5 Chrome reverse with 670x15 bias ply. I cut down a 57 Plymouth steering wheel with Eelco gauges under the dash. The fins are from a 57 Desoto that were welded on the car before I bought it.as well as the tail lights sitting now vertical were from a 60 Olds followed by a 3 pc 59 Chevy bumper all welded to look like a 1 pc bumper with bumper bolts shaved front to rear. I bought it in 1990 on Memorial Day weekend. I drove it to the KKOA Spectacular in 1992 in Holland Michigan and the Goodguys in 2001 in DesMoines Iowa. I mostly just drive to cruise night and around the lakes during the summer months.. This Memorial Day weekend I will have owned it for 30 years.

This is my 56 Dodge I bought on May 1985 and drove it to 9 KKOA Spectaculars and in 94 I drove it out west to the West Coast Kustoms car show in Paso Robles. I tore it completely down in 1999 and z'd the front frame widened the driveshaft tunnel, recessed the firewall 4 inches to shove the engine back now that the frame is raised 4 inches. There's so much work to the car that I have done. Cut away fins welded rear pan, frenched 59 Caddy tailights, bodywork with the removal of most of the stock Dodge chrome, this week I've been installing 58 Ford 2 door sedan side chrome. I am going the traditional way of building this car so i'm using 4 inches of lowering blocks. Rear brakes completely done last fall with everything done on the front end with disc brakes(74 Pontiac)off the shelf from a friends junkyard made in USA. All ball joints and control arm bushings replaced. there was some fab work done to what the other guy did when I paid to have some work done on this car in 1988.I originally painted this 56 Dodge white with a green flake roof in 1993,but now the roof I red did a few years ago,not traditional but something I like doing (custom paint). here are the before and recent pix. The 1st pic is on Sunday at the 94 Paso show, followed by the KKOA Huntsville Al next to the Barris Caddy owned by Kurt McCormick, next with green scallops at the Back to the 50's show in 98,then I pulled everything off the front end and redid the frame raising it 4 inches, bodywork and floor work then started on 11-11-11 with taping the roof for my patterns then skipping everything else to yesterday 4-9-20 putting the 58 Ford side chrome on the Dodge changing the appearance.. and the resto continues,I am a 2 Mopar custom collector.

Pretty darn cool! I'd like to see how it sits after the Z-job and a better distance view of those fins!

I never liked these cars because every one I found had the eyebrows rusted out.
But that is some of the best American car styling ever.

I just saw this tonight. I first saw Dustin's work of art in Louisville at the Nationals close to ten years ago. I remember the evening well, sitting in the parking lot of the motel with Red Bledsoe, John and Dustin. It was a great weekend. This car is special for sure.

Vinny posted two '40 Mercs but I gotta say that he is doing pretty good for a 12 year old. If I had to identify an 80 year old vehicle when I was 12, I would have to read up on 1884 horseless carriages.
