That is an item that is likely to change regularly (like the addition of the blower starter mount on the newer car)--the other differences are more structural. Roo
I'm working on buying this car. It was recently found. The car was built by Howard Kaye in Racine wi. Prior to building this car Howie as he likes to be called worked at R+ B Chassis in Kenosha wi. Thats the shop that built some of the most famous race cars. The car was set up to run a Pontiac Super Duty with injection. The body is a Fiberglass Trends. After its completion it was sold. It has never turned a tire in anger. It never made it to the track. The car has passed through several owners over the years always staying around town. Here are some under construction photos. Some pics got flipped and I can't turn them around. The car needs to be put on the track. It's a cool survivor.
That’s a way kool car Brian looks like it’s got a clutch flight? Definitely needs to be put to use I know of an 23 t altered that was run in the 60’s that is very similar but can’t get it bought yet maybe someday lol Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
You can't see the wheels in any of the pics. They were two piece mag daisies in the rear and 12 spokes up front. Howie still has the wheels. While working at R+B howie learned all the latest technology in chassis design. This chassis has alot of cool features. I was talking with Howie today he said he had a rare set of Pontiac heads for the car. I wonder if they were the same ram air heads as Beswick was using at that time.
Thanks for flipping the pics. I only had a few minutes to get pics of the photo album. I didn't realize the pics were flipping as I was taking them. There was no time to review them.
HMMmmm. Is the box mounted on a pivoting swing arm coming from the right side? And held "steady" by the bearing support on the left side? I'd add a stabilizing strut.
Cool looking ride/find/buy. Lot of “monkey” motion in that steering setup but guess they got it working. & the independent front suspension. Wait to see u get it & how it all works.
1965 Russ Narzinski built this Custom Automotive's AA/Altered Bantam bodied roadster with blown Chevrolet engine displacing 395 CID
Early version with the straight axle front end as opposed to the independent version. George "Stone Age Man" Hutchesson as the wheel Roo
Good news today on buying the altered. The guy will sell it to me. We are setting up a date in the near future to go see it. He has a health issue that will be resolved soon. The original builder Howard Kaye will go with me to verify the parts. Whatever might be missing parts wise Howard still has all the original patterns. When the car was sold Howard kept the trans. He used it in his 59 vette and still has it. I called Roo about the steering box. It's missing. He said it's a p+s box. They were common dragster boxes during that time. Its getting close now. The pieces are starting to fall into place.
