I can tell you know your dozers! It always amazed me that the difference between idle and wide open on that Cat was like 700 rpm! It’s a brute! But as big and bad as it is, we had many trees on the ranch that would stop it in its tracks! I need a ring gear for the big engine if you have one laying around! Lol. I got two D-6s and a Td-9 international, also! Always have a “ thing” for track layers! Oh! And a Bantum Crane!

I drove a D9 back in the 80s, ran the track off a couple of times, it was worn out. Most of the stuff the boss owned had a pony motor on it, all old stuff.

I worked for Komatsu America for years. Started as Komatsu-Dresser Corp, as Komatsu and Dresser (the old IH Co) merged. Eventually Komatsu bought out Dresser's interest and it became Komatsu America.

Got it while working construction in Vegas, being from Texas with red hair. I told them that Texas Red got killed in a Marty Robbins song, most of them didn't know who Marty was. In addition to my car habit I raced large sail boats in both inshore and offshore events for the better part of fifty years. The last few boats I owned were all named Pirate

 

Learn something every day. I got mine as a gift, and I never thought to check the brand at the time, but mine is also a Buck. I have had it a long time and have taken good care of it, but this is a big surprise for me.

Biggest I had was a 3T D7 cable machine. Loved to pull down the 8800 engine on a hard push and listened to it grunt. Also had an Osgood 200 and a Bucyrus 15B. I get off on machines that have all sorts of levers to push and pull to make them work.

 

Cool i never new that there was a Town named "Nimrod" I'm going to look it up. Our "Upper Michigan" ("UP") people are know as "Yoopers" and many call themselves "Nimrod" up north.
The HAMB is a great place for all types of information. I'm thankful to my younger brother in law Chuck who told me about the HAMB.

Back in my 20's, in the late 60's, I bought and sold at a lot of swap meets, About 25-26 per year. Richie Willet from the Boston area started calling me Nick The Bandit, and it stuck. People that know me, know that is just my Nick-name not a description of my character.

I was workshop manager at an earth moving company in Ballarat Victoria, and they had a lot of Dresser equipment
ex army TD15 dozers TD 20 dozers even a couple of twin powered inter scrapers that you could hook up as a tandem set. Dresser in australia changed name to Dresta for some reason.
