  2. I finally found a VAT-28 with a cart locally that was reasonably priced. Needs a good cleaning (which I have started.)

Now if I could just find a reasonably priced battery charger I think I’d be done for a while...

Looking for a Sun 506 Distributor tester and flat head ford adapter.

    Thanks

  4. Well I got another one... 78030A0A-7D19-4B19-AC6E-E6B09A15CEC3.jpeg

I put it to work on my 390. Timing light works. Ordered some new vac hose as it was cracked and leaking.

Anyone have a manual for this “late model” machine? FD843B07-AB90-4B4F-A27B-47944317B85C.jpeg

I got a "manual" with multiple models on DVD from a guy in Missouri (I think). I mentioned him in a post on here. I'll see if I can find his phone number tomorrow. If not, maybe I can "burn" you one.

Posted a thread on the Barn, but thought I would here as well. I picked up this Allen Syncrograph Model E-316 yesterday. I have the original manual, but I'm looking for any additional info and any adapters that will work with the Ford flathead distributors. I'm interested in restoring it, and perhaps using to test my flathead helmet distributor. It powers up and lights up, but I haven't done anything more as I read somewhere you really shouldn't as damage may result due to the age of electrical components. From some other pics on the web, it seems to be circa 1953. It also seems to be popular with hotrodders as I found a few pics of resto restored versions as well. I must say, I do like the Art Deco influenced design.

I have this one for 35 years or more, only used it a couple times, it will look good in the pseudo gas station I am putting together. IMG_3861.JPG

Hello To All: This is my first post on this forum and I must admit I am impressed by the wealth of knowledge here. I am more of a motorcycle gearhead than a car guy, but I do own a Aussie built 2017 Chevrolet SS. I work on older motorcycles that generally have point ignition systems. I have been searching the Internet for what seems like an eternity for someone who could repair a Sun TDT-11 Tach and Dwell meter for me. It is obviously an older meter probably from the 1960's. I hate to make my first post a question, but the knowledge base here on Sun Test Equipment is quite unbelievable. Thank you!

Sorry if I offended anyone with my first post above. I don't like immediately asking a question on a new forum, but I was drawn here by all the chit-chat about Sun Test equipment. For the most part there isn't much out on the Internet regarding these pieces of equipment. If no one is aware of anyone that can repair the TDT-11 meter I have, does anyone know where I may be able to obtain a schematic for it? Thanks again for any help on this.

hi to all. new member here also. recently acquired a sun master motor tester I believe to be late 50,s since it operates on 12 volt rather than 6 volt car battery. also looking for some repair info. on the tach/dwell tester there are 2 receptacles for a battery. the lower one takes a 1.5 volt flashlight battery but the upper 1 is only 3/8 in.deep.was told it also used a 1.5 volt battery that is no longer made & has to be converted to use a 1.5 volt d cell flashlight battery. I need to know if this is correct & if so, where I can find another d cell battery holder to convert it with. also need 1 of the bake light covers for the holder & 1 knob. any info on where I can find these is appreciated. also info on anything that I need to look at or replace since I bought this unit to get it working & use it before I try it out. thanks, jbauto1

I found this Sun 200 set up 10 years ago in the loft of a closed auto repair shop. It was missing the middle two units but I found them on Ebay. My biggest issue is that there are missing or damaged leads, so I have some replacment wire and am machining the special threaded terminals to crimp onto the ends. The Voltage Ignition tester and the Vacuum/Pressure tester both work fine. The Tach/Dwell tester and the Distributor tester (like a timing light) might work once I get the right leads sorted for them.

Also have a manual sun distributor tester

Sun Battery Tester. Also works fine.

A friend of mine got it working and we hooked it up to his Sun machine. It was really cool watching the results on his screen as we tried different settings. I’m sure they are out there but this is the only one I’ve ever seen.

Picked up two old portable testers the other day. Sorry for the bad pics of the units, those are the ones that the seller sent me. I took nice clear pictures of the tags...but no pics of the units themselves. :)

  26. I picked this balancer up a few weeks ago. I’ve been wanting a tire balancer to go with my old coats tire changing machine for years. I never knew Sun made one and when this one popped up I had to have it! Works a treat! 80E3816B-95C7-4277-A998-DA3ABCD3FE00.jpeg I don’t think I’ve posted this compression tester before. I got it a couple years ago. Sun made the most stylish test equipment ever IMHO! 26F6B35E-CB0A-4A84-A2FC-6B15C67106C0.jpeg 60686B75-0AD0-4C48-87EE-8571ADCB4656.jpeg

  27. By the way, if anyone is in need of a restoration project, let me know. The two portable testers I posted earlier could be made available.

I had this show up at my garage yesterday...it's 100% Complete and seems fully functional, needs a little TLC and a new paint job on the base, but it's a welcome addition to my hotrod garage. IMG-0447.jpg
