Karol Millers second or third year at Bonneville when he ran a smaller cubic inches to be at the top of the class and not near the bottom like was the 1st year. Also cut the fenders for exhaust 4 individual pipes and used “moon” discs on the wheels. The Latham blower is off at this photo..
With the GREAT wooden roller coaster in the back. That thing scared the crap out of me the first time .... then road it a bunch LOL.
first map is a 1915 sanborn (not sanford, been a while) ins map. there was a turntable there. 2d shows it in upper left of map. however they show it where the locos are sitting, straight out of the eng house. my best guess would be that as locos got longer, they needed a bigger table. the bigger one would have stuck into the street, so they moved off to the side. Turntables were crucial for steam. the rr's hated running the loco's tender first. they were real apt to derail, jackknife. so tender first was kept to a min. plus the crew would usually get crushed on the boiler back head, or the piping would get broken and scald them to death. Steam engines were incredibly destructive when things went wrong. the bottom pic shows station on a slope. the first pic of hemi dave's you can see where a track angled at least up to it(i think i see it anyhow). and looking from left to right, it looks as though the terrain is dropping off. i think it prob always looked like this, and was built on the slope at track level. the other pic, it doesn't look like its poking out so much. that would be the uphill side. those diesels don't give a crap what direction they go. rr's dumped stations improvements, lines, to try to save $. this was the New Haven. Chronically run badly, always needing cash/needing to save $. there are 82 pages of 1915 holyoke sanford maps, to give you an idea of the detail.
w-12 , Napier railton with a w-12 stuffed in it(same car as old photo i posted a while ago), car radios for sale. Removable deck. i guess there were radio thieves back then too. Need a bigger dozer? weld 3 together. the next two show why one might need a mega dozer(big muskie being moved ). crappy commute

That's right. I have a non porthole top on my 57. Here's how it went. 55: No portholes. 56: Non Port top standard. Portholes as an option. Lots of 55 and 56 non port tops retrofitted with a porthole kit. 57: Portholes standard. You could opt for a non porthole top. Very little takeup on this option. A 57 non porthole top is different to a 55 and 56 non port top. My 57 non port top got stolen. They're so rare that 18 months later it turned up on facebook and I was able to retrieve it. If you search google images you will be lucky to find an image of a 57 with a non port top. That photo is the first one I have seen, and I didn't notice it, so thanks for pointing it out. Mart.
No, Dan Woods. He marketed a T-Bucket kit in addition to building cars for others at his Contemporary Chassis Works. He got his start with the Milk Truck at the age of 18 and built a series of show cars that I’m sure paid well being on the show circuit as a crowd draw.
Now that's funny, cop probably got up and started writing a citation to the ambulance driver. The driver, fireman wantabe, must vertically challenged as you can only see his feet.
Yes they played, I had one once when I bought a 58 Olds. A nice 4 door Holiday that had air suspension that was removed..
