  25. One error in the Moonbeam article is the stated overbore of the SBC. In 1960 you had to start with a 283. 5/8" stroked was possible with a welded up stock crank. Max overbore was/is 1/8" not 5/16" as the article states.

    I was thinking the same thing Dean. With a 1/2" arm and 4" bore, the 352" was what guys called big Chevys back then. Personally I never saw one with a +5/8" stroke but I lived a very sheltered life in the 60's:rolleyes:.
    Funny we run a 3-7/8" stroke in our dirt car engine and don't think anything of it other than giving up a few inches to the guys who run a 4".
