How about cutting off the ends, drill and press in a steel bar the proper size?

Cut the pins off, drill and tap threads in there and loc***e a bolt in the threads and then cut the bolt to the right length. If you can’t fine the exact size bolt, go to the closest bigger size and drill out your bushings. Ot chuck the up in a drill and turn them and hold a file to reduce size. These things don’t have to be perfect to work, they are adjustable.

I was going to suggest just using the bench grinder to get it close. Like has already been done.

the linkage goes through a hole in the body that we can't see, so you really don't want to cut the ****** off. Not much thickness to put threads in

Looks like something I could do if you weld them.

What are the dimensions of the linkage and can you post better pictures so I can take a look and machine some. It looks to me you can machine a bolt to match your part.

    So if a 3/4 bolt
    with a 1/2" hole
    a 3/8" machined stud
3/8" of thread could be machined,I could figure the rest..

I messed up and drilled a 9/16" hole instead of 1/2 on the shifter arm BUT I could go hunt a 1/2 on 5/8 sleeve to weld between...

image.jpg Is this it? I can machine the .375 shaft larger if you can set a larger bushing to fit your .562 9/16 hole in the arm.

Missing the location of the 1/2 inch hole, but I guess in this case close would count.

That would work..the next bushing size would be 1/2 on 5/8?

Get a piece of round stock that's the correct O.D. and turn your bad shaft down to .250 O.D. and drill a hole in the round stock that is .251 I.D and slip it over the shaft and weld the end after matching the length.

@Boneyard51 the half inch hole is there just not drawn to scale and says .500 dia. I know this is correct to draw like this as I had industrial art drafting cl*** in 5th grade...o_O
I can turn your old ones if you like but 1/4 inch is getting small when speed shifting :D if your going to bush it.
I can turn down the bushing shaft to any size you want. It’s a sold piece of 3/4 inch right now . So if I turn it down to 3/8 your going to add a bushing to the bushing for the linkage arm . Now if I turn the bushing shaft to 1/2 inch your going to have to drill the linkage to 5/8. Just let me know what size to turn it down to and can machine it this evening ..

  26. Like Mr. Squirrel said,,,,,,a bench grinder will work fine after welding up the shaft .
I have done this several times in the past,,,,on linkage for a Muncie .
    Works very similar .

I think the orginal idea was the best. If you are not in a hurry I will do it no charge to help a guy out but the next month or so is a little crazy because of wheat harvest.
