Greetings from Fairmount, Indiana, hometown of James Dean.

I just found this thread and its great looking shoeboxes. We recently purchased a Canadian '49 Meteor business coupe that is ready to go for the exception of several minor items to update. My wife and I also have a '50 four door that her parents bought new in North Dakota when they were living there. After spending a number of years resting in a grove of trees near by, the car was brought home and it's been stored since. So, I'm hoping y2020 will be the time we are able to get it back on the road. We bought the Meteor to drive while we work on the '50.

With all the pages on this thread and I'm sure lots of pics, too, it's going to take a while to get through them all. I hope to visit here much.

    Thanks.
    Dave

I'm looking for a NICE '49 or '50 coupe, preferably pretty close to stock, which will become a new project. I'm not interested in any other years or body styles.

Sorry just noticed this. It has 2.5"drop uprights and 2" springs in the front. 3" blocks and 3" drop leafs in the rear.

I'm looking to replace the little peep mirrors on the top of the door with something more functional. Other than the stock 1949-1951 Ford mirror what door mounted mirrors are you guys running that works for you? I'm looking for ideas.

Here's the '50 I just picked up. Doing a lil engine and tune-up work in hopes that she runs well, then it's on to brakes and trans.

Thanks for the lead. My plans have changed, and I'm doing some new tweaks to my shoebox Victoria. So, I'm no longer looking for a new car, coupe or otherwise.
    Thanks again.

I’ve heard about those tweaks!! I can’t wait to see how it comes out and would really dig it if you let me make a photo album of your shoebox in the group! Good luck with it!
