The first photo is of Bobby Unser in 1965; might be at Allentown but I'm not sure about that. And the last shot (I think) seems to be the Bill Vukovich Fuel Injection Special at Raleigh, North Carolina in 1952. Travers and Coon experimented with their roadster that year at tracks other than Indianapolis. They also tried the car on the dirt at Springfield with no luck. Thanks Rootie and have a great weekend!
Thanks WQ59B. Sure looks like a LOT OF HAND STACKING! First hand stack at sawmill, then hand stack onto truck, then hand stack at rail yard. Then hand stack into rail car. Then you get to drag out of rail car and start the process all over again to get to lumber yard and/or job site. Back at a time when on the job site was a Sawyer, whose job all day was to hand saw each board as the carpenter called for it. Imagine the muscled arm on that fellow. Back when all tools were cordless! Lol 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Dry n windy Lubbock TX
Gotta love the whitewall blocks....if you can find them in the photo. My goodness such a healthy specimen...
I have twisted legs and use canes. My wife helps me in and out of the car. Wouldn't bother me a bit. if that was me in the pic. I suspect you had the best intentions posting it.
swi66 you put that in such a respectful manner! And very accurate I might add. 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Dry n windy Lubbock TX
