Yep, I have always believed automatic transmissions were filled with magical fluids and parts that mysteriously know what to do at exactly the right time.

The little clip is what holds the nylon drive gear to the output shaft of the transmission. Might want to pull the extension housing while you're under there for a look; was the speedometer working? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I don't even have a speedo cable. It's all back together. Works great, shifts perfect. So should i expect an issue to arise?

Yeah i seen this on here before. It'd be different if i was making horsepower and had a Ford 9" or some shit, but I'm not. It runs decent, but it's not gonna be at drag week lol. Low, slow, custom paint, cooler of cold beer in the back with my BBQ grille, chairs, and canopy. All about good times ;)

Musta had that cooler full, the tail end is pretty low! Glad to see her running. Those sedan delivery side panels are just the place for some fancy Lloyd's Paint and Glass lettering.....
The first drive in my '56 felt like a homecoming.

No that's actually where it sits! Lol. It did feel good to actually drive. Now I have to wire some lights. And a gas gauge lol.

Don't go crazy with the chrome valve covers until you beef up the rear with a chrome differential cover.

I used to love to mow my lawn; it was therapeutic with my healthcare job. Now, it's just work, and I hate it! But, I still keep it green and mowed; I hate a rotten looking lawn even more than keeping it that way. Get some Corvette valve covers so you'll have a "Corvette motor". I am Butch/56sdedandelivery.

What's up my friends? Been wiring lights. Got the headlight switch in, dimmer switch, headlights wired, brake lights are ran to the back but I've gotta go find some new sockets for the taillight housings. Didn't take any pictures, not really that glamorous lol. I've got 9 customer cars here. Not a lot of time for working on my junk

  26. Come finish the body and paint on my junk and I’ll wire your car! I would much rather be wiring! One of my favorite parts of building cars. Bodywork not so much....

Ok Lane, the age old question. Without one of those trailer converters, how do i get my brakes and signals to share the same filament without the brake overriding the signal o_O And i promise that if i wasn't on the other side of the world i would be there helping you :D

  28. That magic happens in the turn signal switch, I would need more info or schematics of what you are working with

I have an early 60's column. The signal switch is just a selector switch, about the same as a dimmer switch. I'm running a basic bare bones aftermarket wiring harness. Nothing fancy. Worse case scenario is i stick my arm out the window, but i wouldn't mind having rear signals. Even thought about drilling another hole in the taillight housing and adding another socket.
