Good morning all! Yesterday I had a nice talk with my wife's grandfather who is moving to Tennessee and he finally told me to take the car. I've messed around with old Harley's and muscle cars throughout the years but I have just hit the big leagues. The car is a 1950 Ford Tudor Sedan, he sold it in 1972 and bought it back a week later after the young guy forgot to put oil in it and blew it up. Grandpa, rebuilt it, blasted it, painted it and drove it 100 miles. It's been sitting t here since late 1972. All of the side glass is out of the car but intact, interior is roached at best. Can't wait to get it home. It also came with a 429 and an automatic transmission. I haven't decided yet what it is going to be when it grows up but she is heading to a new home soon!
I think I have the missing speaker grille. From what I can see, it looks pretty good. Sitting next to a bag of "Potting Soil" makes me a little nervous, though.
The pictures were taken while still in Grandpas garage. He says all the parts are there to put it together. I will make sure there is no more potting soil in the future posts! LOL
We can't wait to give it another run at living! Grandma hated this car and the fact it has been in the garage for 45+ years. Her name is Ethel so rightly so we named the car "The Streak" and on the deck lid it will be pinstriped "Don't look Ethel"
