1952-59 Ford Wavy door gasket retainer

    Got a lower door repair kit on order from EMS for the other door. Just too many holes to make patches for. Bit the bullet and bought it since it’s available.

    I made a straight one from aluminum angle as one of mine was shot. I've never seen them for sale. It should be easy to make.

    What is the purpose of it being wavy?

    After re-using the original wavy and then having to make my own straight version on the other side, I would guess they did it to make it easier to bend over and it "bites" the gasket a little better.
