1952-59 Ford Anything going on in Oklahoma?

Car Shows? Cruise ins? Cruises? swapmeets? Casinos? Anything?
I did a car show in Wichita Falls, Tx this past weekend. 100 cars or so. Not my type of show, it was open to anything, so lots of year 2000+ Corvettes, Mustangs, tons of new generation Mopars. I did take 1st place in my cl***, but there weren't but a handful of 40-60 cars, so no biggie, but still appreciated.. That said, it was nice to get out with a bunch of car guys, and the 460 mile roadtrip was nice except for the hailstorms.
I did a '57 roadtrip to Colorado the weekend before last, and New Mexico the week prior to that.
So, now I'm getting the urge to head east to OK again, so if any of you Okies on here hear of anything, please let me know.

Joe....there's one I believe Saturday up your way in Oologah..........Handcuffs and Hotrods. I haven't called to confirm. Probably further than I want to go @ 400+ each way for an open-to-anything car show.

 

I don’t expect it to be much of a show. Four hours in a really small town. I hope to put some miles on my 55 this weekend but not there.

 

Nothing that I know of...but I also haven’t been paying attention.

 

So far the 46th annual Mid America Ford and Shelby meet is still scheduled in Tulsa for June 17-21. Typically Thursday and Friday are races at Hallett road co**** and Saturday is all Ford drags at Tulsa Dragway (also usually a swap meet at the track).

I thought that had been canceled, glad it isn’t. Although the last one I went to was mostly late modal stuff with some early Mustangs. Used to be some interesting cars there.

 

I just got my monthly Streetscenes NSRA magazine, and it looks like Pueblo later this month is on (June 26-28), as is OKC July 10-12, and Albuquerque in August! Yahoo!!
They talk about some of the exibition buildings in Pueblo not being available for the show because the CDA and Colo. Governor have taken control of the buildings for treating Corona virus patients.

 

Let me know if you make it to OKC in July Rich, maybe I could meet you for dinner or something. Not sure I will make it out to the show, but might. I did actually make it last year.

 

I will for sure. It would be nice to get a 52-59 forum members grouping together!

 

Maybe Joe could make it too. We have lots of mutual friends, but I haven’t ever met him in person either.

 

Well I certainly plan to be there in my 55. But it will have to be a meet at the event somewhere since my wife will insist on dinner with our friends we attend with. I have met Rich a few times but not you Jeff so I look forward to that.

So...any of you guys going to make the SW Street Rod Nationals this weekend? I didn’t realize it was this weekend until my kid just came and told me.

 

I heard there were only 600 or so cars registered.

 

****!!! totally missed it. My son and I have been gutting and doing a total remodel of one of our bathrooms. We're going to have it functional today finally, and were planning on heading up to Colorado tomorrow for a few days.

 

Well...it was definitely down on cars. But, I got to catch up with lots of friends and we drove the 56 so we could sweat there and back. At least we found a shady spot to park out in the spectator parking.

 

I about missed it to Rich. My son came in after midnight last night to ask if I knew it was going on this weekend...which I didn’t until then.

 

It was 109 in Amarillo today...had to be close to 100 or more in OKC? Couldn't have been too pleasant there, kinda makes me not feel so bad I missed it.

Our home A/C keeps blowing fuses............we're waiting on the A/C repair guy. At 5 o'clock he still had 4 ahead of us.
Heading for cooler temps tomorrow. Not Amarillo, us! heading for Colorado in the morning. Got the '57 all checked out and ready to go.

 

I was there Friday it was a little wet

 

I planned to drive over Friday am but saw the storms on radar and heard reports of hail so backed out. Saturday sounded too hot so sat this one out. Sounds like about 860 was car count. Makes me wonder if NSRA May decide to back out of some other events.

 

bttt.........anything going on this weekend? I need a roadtrip. I was hoping to do a show in Mena, ark., but it was cancelled as was the nsra in Albuquerque.

 

we have a car show on here in york WESTERN AUSTRALIA on the 13 sept ...open to all makes...all welcome .
shows are starting to happen and the weather is getting better all the time.

 

I opted out of the pontoon option for my car.

 

Car show in Guthrie<OK Sept 12........Anybody know anything about it? Can't remember where I found it. There may be one in Lubbock,TX the same day.
