    I really dig those gauges.

May have to procure a set for myself to use in the '36 dash destined for my A. You know, if I ever actually get back to work on it.

  2. I read through this whole thread again, all 27 pages. I've said it before, but I'm absolutely in love with this build. Paul, I really appreciate your detailed pictures and write ups. Fun and informative. I'll be keeping an eye out as you continue to dial things in.

I've been driving the car around whenever I can,
Its getting close to 5,000 miles so far,
in a little over a year.
There have only been a few minor bugs to work out.
Lately I've been wanting to try a little change in style.
I dig the dirt track tire look and they get the job done just fine but,
I always liked the white wall and full wheel cover look too, so...

  6. I love the whitewalls and full caps! Will it remain in primer or finish painted at some point?

    Thanks man.
It may get paint some day but I'm liking the color, texture and low maintenance of the primer.
    It just feels comfortable.

  8. I typically favor your previous wheels and tires on most hotrods, but man.... I think you made the right choice! Looks killer

    Holy Crap. I LOVE IT.
I know what you mean about the low maintenance thing but man I hope you paint it.
Paint it and panel stripe every panel...

no real changes to the car, chrome generator, spinner caps on the rear and Porter mufflers..
switching gears around in the quickchange and seem to like the 1:1 gears with the 3.78 ring and pinion the best,
    for now anyway, go figure
    'posted these two pictures elsewhere..

What two gauges did you put on the engine side of the firewall?

Oil and water as hole fillers, the thought was to put vacuum and tach in but somehow that hasn't happened yet, I have them just haven't gotten around to it.. and I need to pick up a signal converter for the mag

This thread is like a magnet, and I end up going back through it in case I might have missed some neat detail.
Should not have gotten rid of mine, 27's make beautiful hotrods.

Nothing to report here, same good old reliable car.
Right now waiting for the sun to come out, seems like it's been raining for months..

I am building a '26 Roadster very similar to this yet with a Flatty mill, the cost to build these can easily exceed the asking price on this one... This is a hell of deal for a well built (documented build too) car. Would love to just add this one to the stable and mothball my build.

Finally got the turn signals going
I'd mounted the switch when the car first came together but that was as far as that went.
I cleaned up a pair of cowl lights,
    put amber bulbs in them,
fabbed some simple brackets and bolted them to the front of the frame rails,
and ran a bunch of wire.

Six wire switch, two post flasher, single filament amber bulbs up front, typical Pontiac rear lights.
No self cancel, no front running lights, but I may wire in a push pull switch for four way flash.
