Technical Who still does triple chrome?

    I had a tough chroming job at work. The spec called for a certain thickness of nickel and hard chrome which was ground to a tight tolerance. Finally used Erie Hard Chrome and a new vendor for the fab. The 1st batch came in and I saw a flash of copper in the centers. I never said a word about it

    Any suspension part must be "baked" to eliminate hydrogen embrittlement, that includes springs.

    That's what I have always heard, but are suspension parts heat treated?

    Yes leaf springs are heat treated. I don't know the result hardness, but they would require the HE baking. Same with coil springs. Anti-roll bars can also be heat treated. Any part with splines is also likely heat treated, to make the splines more wear resistant.

    I used to work there years ago. They fix some insanely wasted pot metal stuff, they're not afraid to take on really tough jobs. Here's a before and after of a die cast pot metal piece they fixed and posted on their web page.

    They've done some stuff for me and I've been really happy. They are not cheap though. The insane amount of work it takes to repair some of this stuff, and the crazy cost of the materials makes chroming an expensive job. If I had something I could not fix and could not replace any other way, I wouldn't hesitate to take it there.

    Their tanks are not huge though, if you bring bumpers there, they sub them out to Northstar in Minnesota (who also does fantastic work) and also they will not do wheels.
