    I think that is LeRoy Semas' Harry Westergard custom Chevy in the background (I said "Winfield" in an earlier version, Lurker Mick corrected me, thanks!

    Good eye, you are right about LeRoy's 37 Chev, but it was customized by Harry Westrgaard not Winfield.

    Probably 1952, the City of Burbank liner was sponsored by Bob Estes Mercury by 1953, and the Eddie Miller lakester set a record that year.
