Before i put on the crimped HEI ends & 90 degree rubber boots to attach the spark plug wires to the MSD distributor, i thought i should make some stainless wire looms to hold the wires neatly. I have access to some 3/8 " 9.5mm ID stainless tubing. Using Vintage wire that has a 7.8 mm OD I have seen some straight, some bent, some attached to the intake, some attached to the upper head, some attached to the lower part of the head. Lets see what some of you have come up with!
Sorry you are having difficulty getting a response. HAMBers are usually more helpful. But, one time when I was asking advice on the install of the new Heidts IFS and 22" Boyd Wheels on my channeled Model A, nobody would help me. Just be patient and someone will come along.
Try Goller's Hot Rod Shop in Ohio. He has been selling some really nice looms originally designed by Mark Kirby of Motor City Flatheads.
Here's mine, used the straight stainless tubes that mount on the intake, clean and neat. this is an 8BA with the earlier heads so has the regular distributor.
My French Flathead with 59 A heads, 8BA ignition, stainless spark plug wire loom/tubes, custom made by a friend around 20 years ago.
I just use the ones Ford made for the job.----Tried 3 times to load the photo---never had a problem before----will try again later.
These are chrome looms that I got from Flathead Jack. They are supposed to use the intake bolts, but I turned them upside down and used the blower bolts to secure them.
