The first attached shot looks like the Mataka brothers car but I'm not sure about the driver. Is there any info on this one? Could this be Ed Elisian in the track roadster photo? The last shot shows Jud Larson leading Tony Bettenhausen in 1958; probably at DuQuoin. Thanks, Rootie!
That's Wally Dallenbach in the Mataka car, at unknown track. It does look a lot like Elisian in the roadster but I can't say for sure.
After midget auto racing resumed on the West Coast after WWII, Vukie was the first Champion of the Red Circuit of UMA. He drove a Drake powered Midget. Vukie is not wearing a Mask!! He was the only Driver, who came from racing Strictly Midgets, to winning the Indianapolis 500 twice and then tragedy struck on the third time, while leading the race, he sadly lost his life at Indy
Here in Lubbock we have one plant that empties the semi trucks this way. Usually the tractor and trailer go up, but occasionally they disconnect and just the trailer goes up. No idea why. 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Dry n windy Lubbock TX
