Does anyone know if tpi gauges is still in business . There phone number is out of order . I need a new sending unit for my speedometer. Thanks, Tony
don't know, but there might be some other sending unit that would work...but we'd have to know more about the sender you have now, to be able to help you figure it out. Pictures? Numbers?
Thanks , I'm trying to JB weld it back together right now . I would rather have a new one . Will get pictures and part number as soon as can

https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Omeg...eter-Gauge-Sender-Signal-Generator,27841.html This style of pulse generator comes in different pulse-per-revolution ratings. It will be necessary to determine what you need for pulses.
If you shop Amason: https://www.amazon.com/IIL-Speedome...+Generator&qid=1601184882&s=automotive&sr=1-1 At $30, it is cheap enough to try. They have a decent return policy.
If you try it, and it reads way wrong, record how wrong it is, like say at 25 observed, what does the gauge say? That will help get the proper one, with the proper number of pulses per revolution. If you have one of them smarty phones, there are free GPS speedometer apps.
You also need to know if the speedometer needs a square wave signal or a sine wave signal maybe this link will help https://www.autometer.com/resources/index/faq_view/id/98
if you take it apart, you can probably figure out how it works, eh? Or maybe you need some understanding of how pulse generators work.... but it might have a hall effect sensor, or it might have a magnetic pickup coil, and it probably has some number of poles. The shaft turns at 1000 revs per mile, so the number of poles will tell you the pulses per mile--just multiply number of poles by 1000 to get ppm. Magnetic is sine wave, hall effect is square wave. Since it has 3 wires, it's probably hall effect.
